The BSE benchmark was trading down 48.10 points or 0.25% at 19339.04, and the Nifty was down 19.40 points or 0.33% at 5879.40. Europe was trading positive.
The Sensex was up 34.64 points or 0.18% at 19421.78, and the Nifty was up 7.05 points or 0.12% at 5905.85. Gitanjali Gems, Shoppers' Stop, KPIT Cummins gained above 2% each. Adhunik Metalik is the biggest smallcap gainer, rising above 12%.

Stock Market Closing News

The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 46 points to 19,377.98 and the 50-share NSE Nifty lost 16 points to 5,891.25.

TCS dropped 2 percent and top telecom operator Bharti Airtel slipped percent. Private oil & gas producer Reliance Industries and utility vehicle major Mahindra & Mahindra were down 1.25 percent each. HDFC rallied over 2 percent and FMCG major Hindustan Unilever rose 0.6 percent. Drug producers Cipla and Dr Reddy’s Labs gained over 1 percent. Two-wheeler majors Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto were up 0.8-01 percent.

Share Market Opens Flat on Monday

On Monday, 10 Dec 2012, Sensex and Nifty opened flat. Sensex is down by 9 points at 19,414, and the Nifty is down by 6 points at 5901. The shares of Wipro are up 2% to Rs 387. The key gainers in early trade include Gitanjali Gems, Strides Arcolab, Reliance Communications and Bajaj Holdings up around 2% each. Sesa Goa shares were down around 3% to Rs 183. NMDC shares were down close to 4% to Rs 153 .

Stock Market Update For 21 June 2012

The Nifty was at 5,105.95, down 14.60 points, or 0.30 percent. It has touched a high of 5,122.80 and a low of 5,094.60 today. And sensex is at 16,865.49, down -31.14 or 0.18%.

Falling for the fourth-day today, the rupee tumbled to new record low of 56.57. The rupee declined for the fourth day in a row by 25 paise against the dollar. Yesterday Reliance Industries(3.34 percent), TCS (2.64 percent), Hindalco Industries (1.67 percent), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.24 percent) and Tata Motors (1.10 percent) are the major Sensex decliners.

Top gainers of today are: Tata Motors ltd., Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Maruti Suzuku India Ltd, Coal India Ltd., and Sun Pharmaceutical Inds. Ltd.

Other updates include:

* BSE capital goods index gains 1.3%; BSE Realty index was up 0.7%
* BSE Oil & Gas index drops 1.3% BSE IT Index slips 1.2%.
* Gold has gained Rs 1,010 per 10 gm, or 3.45 per cent.
