BSE, Bombay Stock Exchange the service of sending SMS to all investors from tomorrow as a move to check unauthorized stock market trades through investor accounts.

This service will start from October 12, as per the details of the investor available in the UCC (Unique Client Code) database.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too would start sending transaction details to mobile phones and Email accounts of all retail investors with effect from October 15.

This service follows complaints against brokers and other market entities conducting transactions through accounts of their clients without the knowledge of the investor concerned.

Indian Stock Market Closed on Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is a religious festival observed by Hindus on the occasion of birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati.

According to the mythology, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the God of good fortune and prosperity. This Hindu festivity is also popularly known as Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayaka Chaturthi in many places and last for 10-12 days. Celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi usually falls between 20 August and 15 September every year, and this year, Ganesh Chaturthi 2012 is observed with fervor and zeal on September 19.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated all over India, it is most elaborate in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa. And outside India, it is celebrated widely in Nepal and by Hindus in the United States, Canada and various other countries.

Indian stock markets, the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange will be closed on 19th Setember, and will resume on September 20th 2012.
