The 30-scrip Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was at 17,487.80, up 88.82 points or 0.51 percent. It touched a high of 17,492.49 and a low of 17,457.71 in early trade.

The 50-scrip Nifty was at 5,304.60, up 26 points or 0.49 percent. The index touched a high of 5,305.75 and a low of 5294.15 in early trade.

The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.46 percent and the BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.41 percent higher.
